Speaking to The Kerryman on Tuesday, ? S? said that there had been a get-together between the Kerry players, team management and County Board officials on the Saturday week before the match and the arrangements for the All-Ireland weekend were outlined.
?We were asked if we were happy with the arrangements and we agreed, to a man, that we were.
?There were no quibbles of any kind.
?Everybody at that get-together was happy with the arrangements and agreed with them.
?We went to Dublin and things didn?t work out for us. It was disappointing, but we will be giving it a good shot again next year.?
? S? said that the Kerry team were going off on holidays to South Africa after Christmas with their partners and the County Board was looking after them.
?As captain of the Kerry team, I have been dealing directly with the County Board and they have been very accommodating to us,? he said.
?The stories which have appeared about dissatisfaction over the arrangements for the All-Ireland weekend are totally unfounded and I would also say that the timing of the articles in relation to them was very bad.
?I am speaking on behalf of the Kerry players and I totally refute what was in those articles.
?We are happy with the way we were treated for the All-Ireland final weekend and we are happy with the way we have been treated by the County Board all along.
?We are looking forward to our holiday and we are going off there to build for next year.?
