Kerry fisherman drowns at sea

A fisherman in his sixties from the Fenit area of Co Kerry has drowned at sea off Loop Head.

The man was rescued from the water by the Shannon-based rescue helicopter and rushed to Galway University hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The dead man's vessel is now back at Fenit and his family have been notified.

It is not known how long the man's body had been in the water.
