Fishing vessel detained off Kerry coast

The Irish Navy has detained a fishing vessel off the coast of Co Kerry for allegedly exceeding monthly fishing quotas.

The Westlerea was detained by the LE Niamh around 60 nautical miles west of the Blasket Islands and is currently being escorted to Fenit.

The navy has detained six vessels so far this year.
